Ian went over our purchase agreement and assured us that my concerns were already addressed in it (I had sent him it with the seller’s edits and my comments). He pointed out a concern of his and advised us to address it in the agreement by stipulating that we have a separate agreement on that issue (the sales price factored in allowing the seller to live rent free for up to 9 months after the closing) …we did have a question about being married and being on the deed vs. the mortgage. He explained to us a statute in MD that makes for an equitable distribution in the event of a divorce. I highly recommend Ian and would contact him in the future.
